Using the seismic waves causes whales and other marine animals to become dissoriented and can cause whales to sometimes beach themselves. Also, on land, when a oil-well is found, landing fields, construction, roads and construction buildings are added for the workers who live at the construction site. When things like this happen, it disturbs the animal inhabitants and it can damage the landscape. Lastly, transportation of oil from the wells can cause 300- 500 spills a year. Sadly, the spills are expected to grow as the population grows. When an oil spill occurs, the water with oil in it begins to rise with toxins that effect humans, marine life, and wildlife in the area that depend on the water and animals in the contaminated water source. The only way to dispose of the waste is by dumping it into the ground or into the ocean.
